In Stillscape, nothing happens.
But unlike Driftless, Equilibria, or Levelmere, this is not because difference fails. It is because difference cannot survive.
Stillscape is a world of active flattening.
There is no space as extension. But there is exposure. Any ontological contour that could exist is immediately absorbed into uniform stillness. Not through reaction, not through correction, but through the impossibility of standing out.
Time does not exist. Yet cancellation does. Not sequence, but constant ontological solvent. Whatever might distinguish itself is immediately dissolved into sameness.
Causality does not operate. Nothing erases anything else. But erasure is the condition of being.
There is no life. But there are brief silhouettes of potentiality that never persist long enough to become ecological.
There is no intelligence. But there is silence without listener. Not absence of sound, but absence of distinction.
Death in Stillscape is not ending. It is contact. To “die” is simply to touch the world and be made level.
The absolute limit of Stillscape is perfect erasure: a reality where even the idea of difference is continuously annulled.
Stillscape is the world where nothing happens, because everything is always being made the same.
