In Deferra, nothing happens. But unlike Latenfall, nothing even rests in latency. Whatever exists is actively not-yet. Deferra is a world where being cannot settle into dormancy. Existence is constituted by perpetual postponement. Not stored possibility, but continuous non-arrival. There is no space as extension. But there is recession. Presences are not located. They withdraw from their own presence. Whatever exists exists as that which has not yet managed to exist. Time does not exist. Yet delay does. Not as waiting for something, but as structural retreat from actuality. Reality is always pulling away from itself. Causality does not operate. Nothing defers anything else. But nothing can arrive. Deferral is not an action. It is identity. There is no life. But there are retreat-fields where even the concept of emergence dissolves into endless not-yet. There is no intelligence.
