In Shearfall, nothing happens.
But unlike Rupturex, existence is not simply open. It is misaligned.
Shearfall is a world where presence cannot occupy itself. Ontological layers slide against one another without motion, without time, without process. Whatever exists is internally offset.
There is no space as extension. But there are slips. Not gaps between presences, but continuous dislocation within them. No configuration coincides with itself. Every presence is internally out of phase.
Time does not exist. Yet displacement does. Not sequence, but structural misregistration. Existence does not tear into pieces. It shears into layers that cannot settle.
Causality does not operate. Nothing shears anything else. But nothing can align. Misfit is primitive.
There is no life. But there are drift-fields where no coherent boundary can ever stabilize.
There is no intelligence. But there is dislocation without awareness. Not perception, but impossibility of internal coherence.
Death in Shearfall is not ending. It is slippage. To “die” is to become so internally misaligned that even the notion of presence collapses.
The absolute limit of Shearfall is total phase loss: a reality where existence is nothing but non-coincidence.
Shearfall is the world where nothing happens, because nothing can ever be where it is.
